Small Change for a Big Change campaign was launched in October 2016 providing an alternative way to donate to support the homeless and vulnerable in our city. With 19 donation points located across the city centre in locations such as Boots, The University Campus, Costa Coffee at Victoria Square, Sainsbury Chapel Ash, the Info stop at Victoria Street, Asda Waterloo Road and Wolverhampton Homes on Market Street we are providing alternative ways for people to give rather than directly to people on our streets.  We are immensely proud of the £12,153.80 raised so far proving that the people of Wolverhampton are very generous with their small and sometimes not so small change.

In November 2017 Casino 36 jumped at the opportunity of having a donation box and has so far raised an impressive £1,457 including unspent “cash out” tickets that they have generously converted into cash for the cause.

Debbie Jones from Casino 36 with only 2 months training bravely took on the Carvers ½ marathon in September this year to again raise funds for The Alternative Giving and by the time she collected all the sponsorship in raised £350! “Same time next year” Debbie?

We are rolling out a number of smaller donation points which can be easily accommodated in your business and these are available now. If you are interested in hosting a donation box please let your ambassador know or contact the BID Team on 01902 710903. The scheme is managed by the Wolverhampton BID (Business Improvement District)

100% of the funds raised goes to support the P3 Navigator based on School Street, St Georges Hub, Chapel Ash and the Wolverhampton Street Pastors.

Cherry Shine BID Director said:  Helping the homeless and vulnerable individuals by providing the right support is fundamental to this initiative by providing an easy way to donate directly to these worthy charities, ‘working with the right agencies we will be able to support a positive change in our city centre’.

James Thomas-Horton, Head of Marketing at Casino 36 said: “Our customers have taken this charity to their hearts and we are delighted with how much they have raised so far this year.”
